If you are running Serious Edition, download this file from Software Bisque:

http://www.bisque.com/richard/theskyx.zip (10.1.6, build 3643 from March 29, 2010)

Backup your original TheSky.exe file in the installation directory (C:\Program Files\Software Bisque\TheSkyX Serious Astronomer Edition) and extract the compressed binary to the installation directory.

Copy the file (C:\Program Files\Software Bisque\TheSkyX Serious Astronomer Edition\Resources\Common\Miscellaneous Files\telescoperesource.txt) to (C:\Program Files\Software Bisque\TheSkyX Serious Astronomer Edition\Resources\Common\Miscellaneous Files\mountlist.txt).

Add the following line to (C:\Program Files\Software Bisque\TheSkyX Serious Astronomer Edition\Resources\Common\Miscellaneous Files\mountlist.txt) as the second non-comment line (comments start with "//"):

1|Software Bisque|TeleAPI||TeleAPI|

Start up TheSkyX and setup your telescope by choosing the TeleAPI driver. Use the ASCOM chooser to select your driver. Connect your scope.

It is believed that TheSkyX supports TeleAPI out of the box. I am unable to verify that until my disc arrives. I have verified that Pro does support TeleAPI out of the box.

My disk for TheSkyX Pro arrived yesterday, April 30, 2010. After loading the progran into the observatory PC, which already contains ASCOM 5.5 and the Celestron drivers for my C10NGT, I was able to link to the telescope and operate it "out-of-the-box". It was a pleasure to have things work without a hitch!
