I have a new Starizona MicroTouch focuser-controller. When I plug the USB cable into my computer, the computer freezes. The computer is a Toshiba A305 laptop with a Pentium-4 dual-core, 4GB RAM, 32-bit WinXP Pro. The MicroTouch is the "wired" version. I've tried a couple of PCMCIA -based USB controllers, as well as the ones built-in to the computer, with the same result - it freezes. The only thing that unfreezes it is a power-cycle. I've tried a couple of versions of the "silib.sys" and "siusbxp.sys" files, with no luck.
After loading a bare-bones WinXP Pro into another computer with a USB controller having a NEC chipset, the bare-bones XP did NOT freeze.
I talked to Starizona and they said mine was the first one they've heard of freezing.
Any ideas?
K-R.
